In Texas, now is a great time to find all kinds of beautiful wildflowers. After you and your children have fun collecting them, you may want to create a project with pressing your wildflowers. Here’s how… Collect the flowers you want to press and lay them out on a folded newspaper without over lapping. Fold the newspaper over to create a top and a bottom. You can have several layers of folded newspapers stacked together. Put a big heavy book on the top and place on a hard surface. Check the flowers every few days to see if the flowers are dry.
Once the flowers are dry make fun garden pictures, cute cards for grandmothers, or you can take the flowers apart to make potpourri.
Have fun playing outside with your kids and if they stay interested long enough, you can search online for the different flowers you find.
